We were incredibly lucky recently to be visited by two highly respected archaeologists from the Heritage in Schools programme. The Heritage in Schools scheme provides a panel of Heritage Specialists who visit primary schools to help children and their teachers learn about and appreciate their local heritage. Francesca Cadeddu and Stephen Mandal conducted hands-on workshops with all classes from First to Sixth on a variety of topics such as Celtic Art and the Book of Kells, Anglo-Norman castles, Medieval ringforts and Viking longboats. The children particularly enjoyed the interactive activities involved and many thanks to Francesca, Stephen and the Heritage council for sponsoring such a wonderful opportunity for our pupils.
